The 4-star superior Hotel Digon is a family-run hotel set in a quiet, elevated position above Ortisei, the largest village in Val Gardena. Run by the Stuflesser family for over 40 years and recently renovated, the hotel looks out across the valley towards the surrounding Dolomite peaks, and the views from the rooms, the infinity pool and the dining room are genuinely spectacular. Ortisei village centre is approximately 1.7km away, but a free bus stops directly outside the hotel and runs regularly into the village and across Val Gardena, making it easy to reach the ski lifts, shops and restaurants without a car.

Rooms are finished in natural wood and Swiss pine, giving them a warm, contemporary alpine feel. The range runs from standard doubles through to the top-floor Majestic rooms of 30sqm and above, which feature elegant wooden floors, spacious bathrooms and unobstructed balcony views across the valley and surrounding greenery. All rooms come with satellite TV, safe, free Wi-Fi and balcony or terrace as standard.

Half-board dining is a real strength of the Hotel Digon. The kitchen places a strong emphasis on local, seasonal ingredients, with many products sourced from the family's own farm. Dinner is a refined affair rooted in South Tyrolean and Trentino tradition with an international touch, and a sommelier is on hand to guide you through a well-chosen wine list. Breakfast is equally generous, with homemade cakes, fresh pastries and a wide selection of sweet and savoury options. Gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan and vegetarian diets are all catered for throughout.

The hotel's outdoor infinity pool is a standout feature, offering heated bathing with panoramic views across Val Gardena. The wellness area includes a sauna, hammam, steam room and hot tub, and there is a garden with sun loungers for relaxing in the afternoon sun. Other facilities include a bar, lounge, wine cellar, playground, ski storage with boot dryers, free parking and EV charging. From Ortisei, skiers have access to the Val Gardena ski area and the wider Dolomiti Superski network, with 1,246km of interconnected pistes including the famous Sella Ronda circuit. The Alpe di Siusi cable car and Rasciesa funicular are both accessible from the village.
