Arinsal & Pal

Located high in the Pyrenees on the western side of the principality, the lively resort of Arinsal is very popular with families and younger groups of skiers who enjoy the 'après' as much as the 'ski'!

A single lift pass is available for the area, called the Nord Pass Area pass. The Nord Pass area (Pal-Arinsal and Arcalis) provides 93km of marked runs, efficiently served by a modern lift system as well as a free ski bus linking Ordino-Arcalis to Arinsal and Pal.

With a high point of 2,560 metres and over 45 lifts, families enjoy Arinsal’s smaller scale while younger groups love its lively nightlife. The forest runs in Pal are sure to be a favourite among families, guaranteed to intrigue the youngest of skiers.

Situated in the west of the Andorran Pyrenees close to the Spanish border, Arinsal’s beginner slopes are perfect for young children learning to ski while intermediate skiers and boarders will enjoy its wide open slopes and the pretty, tree-lined runs at Pal.

On the mountain, food offerings have become more sophisticated with restaurants like Pain Cocotte and Pla de la Cot in Pal, bringing a more modern style to the slopes. Pla de la Cot is perfect for cocktails, tapas and lounging around.

Back in the resort, you can choose from a range of cuisines including Catalan, Mexican, Italian and Argentine. Some bars are family friendly and offer nightly entertainment.

For a relatively small area, Vallnord offers an amazing range of activities, including baby clubs, airboarding, boardercross, a freestyle area for teenagers, ski biking, speedriding (a combination of paragliding and skiing), sledging, a children’s snow park and avalanche training for off-piste skiers and boarders.

Catalan is the official language here, but English French and Spanish are widely spoken. So, as the Catalan say, 'bones vacances!'
