Travel through alpine landscapes and charming towns as we explore the best of northern Italy. From the dramatic Dolomites to vineyard-covered valleys, this is a journey filled with culture, local flavours and relaxed discovery.
This thoughtfully paced, 7 night tour holiday, brings together the natural beauty, cultural heritage and culinary traditions of northern Italy. We explore the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites, visit elegant towns like Trento and Bolzano and enjoy experiences that bring the region’s flavours to life – from sparkling wine tastings to local apple specialities. With our Dedicated Tour Guide accompanying the group, every detail is taken care of, leaving you free to relax and enjoy each moment at your own pace.
Upon arrival at Verona Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your Dedicated Tour Manager, who will accompany your group throughout the holiday. A comfortable private coach transfer will take you into the Val di Sole, a peaceful alpine valley surrounded by forests and dramatic mountain scenery.
Your base for the week is the welcoming 4-star Hotel Ravelli Sporting, a family-run property offering cosy rooms, excellent dining and a relaxing wellness centre with an indoor pool — a perfect retreat for unwinding between excursions.
This morning we depart at a comfortable 9am for a day exploring the magnificent Brenta Dolomites. Our scenic drive takes us deep into Val Genova to visit the impressive Nardis Waterfalls, a spectacular cascade surrounded by lush forests and towering peaks. A gentle scenic walk brings you close to the falls and offers wonderful photo opportunities.
Later, we continue to Madonna di Campiglio, one of the Dolomites’ most elegant mountain towns. Here you will have ample free time to enjoy lunch, browse the stylish shops, or simply relax in a café while admiring the surrounding alpine views.
We return to the hotel in the late afternoon, leaving time to unwind before dinner.
Today begins with an early but rewarding start as we embark on one of the true highlights of the holiday — a bucket-list journey on the legendary Bernina Express. Travelling in panoramic carriages, the train glides across soaring bridges, past glittering glaciers and through sweeping alpine valleys. It is considered one of the most spectacular rail routes in the world, and the breathtaking scenery unfolds effortlessly before you.
Upon arrival in glamorous St. Moritz, enjoy time at leisure to stroll along the lakeside, explore the elegant boutiques or simply relax with a coffee and soak in the crisp mountain air. In the afternoon, we return by coach to Trentino, carrying with us the unforgettable memories of this iconic alpine experience.
This morning we travel into the fertile Val di Non, a region famous for its vast apple orchards and traditional farming heritage. We visit a local family-run farm to learn about the area’s apple cultivation and to enjoy a tasting of delicious apple-based specialities.
Afterwards, enjoy free time for lunch in the charming town of Cles, overlooking Lake Santa Giustina. It’s a lovely place to take a gentle stroll, enjoy a relaxed meal or browse local shops.
The afternoon is free back at the hotel, giving you time to rest, enjoy the wellness facilities or simply soak in the peaceful alpine surroundings.
After breakfast, we set off for the refined and elegant city of Trento, where a local guide will bring its fascinating history to life. As we stroll through the beautifully preserved historic centre, we’ll admire the Cathedral overlooking the lively Piazza Duomo, graceful Renaissance palaces with frescoed façades and the imposing Buonconsiglio Castle, once the seat of the powerful Prince-Bishops. It’s a gentle and engaging introduction to one of northern Italy’s most cultured cities.
Following some relaxed free time for lunch at your leisure, we continue to the prestigious Ferrari wine estate, renowned for producing Italy’s finest sparkling wines. Here, we learn about the traditional methods behind their award-winning labels before enjoying a refined tasting paired with regional specialities. It’s a wonderfully elegant experience, celebrating the flavours and heritage of Trentino in a serene and welcoming setting
Today is entirely yours to enjoy. Relax in the hotel’s wellness centre, take a dip in the indoor pool, or simply savour the peaceful landscapes of the Val di Sole. If you prefer to explore independently, your Tour Manager will be pleased to suggest gentle walks or nearby places of interest.
For our final full day, we travel to the lively town of Bolzano, where Italian and Austrian influences blend beautifully. A guided walking tour introduces you to its arcaded streets, colourful markets and striking Gothic cathedral, with time to explore the old town at a relaxed pace.
During your free time in the city, those who wish may visit the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, home to the world-famous glacier mummy, Ötzi. The museum offers a fascinating insight into Copper Age life. Alternatively, you may prefer to browse the shops, enjoy a gentle stroll or relax in one of the welcoming cafés.
In the afternoon, the group comes together for a gentle and scenic ride on the Renon Cable Car, gliding up to the sunny Renon plateau. The views over the valley and surrounding mountain ranges are spectacular — a serene highlight to conclude the week.
This morning we bid farewell to the Dolomites and transfer by private coach to Verona Airport for your return flight. With wonderful memories of alpine scenery, rich culture and warm hospitality, you return home feeling refreshed, fulfilled and inspired.
