Boutique hotels are often talked about and rarely delivered. Hotel Renè Dolomites in Pozza di Fassa is the genuine article. Family-run for over 50 years and set in the heart of the Val di Fassa, this intimate 4-star hotel combines the warmth and character of a lovingly run family home with the facilities and refinement of a serious alpine retreat.
The rooms and suites are beautifully designed in a contemporary alpine style, with warm wood, clean lines and a quiet attention to detail that sets the tone from the moment you arrive. The wellness centre is one of the hotel's great pleasures. The restaurant is equally impressive, with a daily changing gourmet menu rooted in fresh, local ingredients and the best of Italian mountain cooking. Breakfast is generous and beautifully presented, and the afternoon cake spread after a day on the slopes has become something of a hotel legend among returning guests.
On the ski front, the hotel runs a complimentary shuttle service to the Buffaure cable car, with the Aloch slopes just 700 metres away for those who fancy night skiing. The ski bus stop is 150 metres from the front door, connecting you to the wider Val di Fassa and Dolomiti Superski network. Pozza di Fassa is a quiet, charming village with a laid-back atmosphere and some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the Alps. Hotel Renè puts you right in the middle of it all.

Born and raised in the area of Franciacorta, I grew up surrounded by the glorious landscapes and vineyards, for which the area is well-known. Other than harvesting grapes for the production of my family’s own wine, some of my fondest childhood memories come from spending time at Lake Garda. Whether it’s cycling, climbing or windsurfing, I just can’t get enough of the activities around Lake Garda. At the end of the day, you’ll always find me in a lakeside café, admiring the views and sipping an Aperol Spritz in the sunshine. That to me, is paradise.
