Enchantingly beautiful with its quaint maze of narrow cobbled streets, its unspoilt harbour and of course breathtaking views across the lake, Malcesine lies at the foot of Mount Baldo, on the eastern shore of the captivating Lake Garda.
Follow the romantic trail of narrow cobbled streets that meander their way through the town leading to a cute pebble beach. The harbour with its colourful boats bobbing by its walls, is surrounded by restaurants, cafés and shops allowing guests to sample a taste of ’la dolce vita’ as they sit, relax and people watch over a drink or two. Malcesine lends itself to a slower pace of life, where sauntering through the beautiful medieval town and relaxing by the waters edge is very much the order of the day.
One of the most visited tourist attractions in the area is the impressive Scaligeri Castle with its rich history, having been restored and adapted for military purposes up until the nineteenth century and offering some of the best views of Mount Baldo too. The castle is a popular wedding venue and it is easy to see why. With its turrets and romantic fairytale-like appearance, it provides the perfect backdrop for a fantastic wedding.
There are plenty of day trips and excursions available in the area and with excellent ferry connections to other lakeside resorts, Malcesine is a great base for sightseeing and exploring all that Lake Garda has to offer. Riva and Limone are both close by, or you can catch the boat to any of the other lakeside resorts that take your fancy. Verona makes for a good day trip from here and some visitors even journey to Venice for the day too.

Hello, I'm Malcolm. This will be my 4th summer season at Lake Garda for Topflight. I originally hail from the west coast of Scotland and spend my winters in France. I love anything and everything outdoorsy, but especially cycling and skiing! There's nothing quite like sharing a pizza and a few drinks after a sunny day on the lake! I am here to ensure you have a fantastic time with on hoilday with us. Whether you are looking for some local info on the best spots to visit or a well earned Aperol Spritz at the end of the day, I'll be on hand to deal with any queries or questions you may have during your stay.

Born and raised in the area of Franciacorta, I grew up surrounded by the glorious landscapes and vineyards, for which the area is well-known. Other than harvesting grapes for the production of my family’s own wine, some of my fondest childhood memories come from spending time at Lake Garda. Whether it’s cycling, climbing or windsurfing, I just can’t get enough of the activities around Lake Garda. At the end of the day, you’ll always find me in a lakeside café, admiring the views and sipping an Aperol Spritz in the sunshine. That to me, is paradise.
